Background:
Jeff Tippey received his B.S. in Engineering Sciences from Texas Christian University in 2008. While attending TCU, Jeff worked as a member of a MEMS research team lead by Dr. Edward Kolesar. During this time, he became proficient with many different software programs and gained valuable experience in MEMS design, modeling, and development. Jeff also competed in several student design competitions and was awarded 3rd place in the 2007 IEEE Student Design Paper and Presentation Competition. As a result ,he was asked to present at the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter’s Annual IEEE Metrocon 2007 Conference.
Currently, Jeff is attending the University of Texas at Arlington working towards his Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering. His current research is in multiphysics modeling of MEMS devices, 3-D level interconnects, high-force and large displacement electrostatic actuators, smart Microsystems, energy harvesting, and MEMS Micromachining.
