Woo Ho Lee, PhD

Research Scientist


Background:
Woo Ho Lee holds a BS degree in Mechanical Design and Production Engineering from Hanyang University, Seoul Korea and a MS degree in Production Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in Taejon, Korea. He has worked at the Living System Research Laboratory of Gold Start Electronics Co. from 1990 to 1993 and at the Robotics and Fluid Power Control Laboratory of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology from 1993 to 1995.

In 2001, he received a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, focusing on reconfigurable robotic systems. Upon graduation, he joined the Center for Automation Technologies as a Research Associate. He is presently a Faculty Associate with the Automation & Robotics Research Institute at The University of Texas at Arlington. His work deals with modular robotics, MEMS fabrication, microrobotic assembly, and microfluidic system packaging. Dr. Lee has been involved in the development of dynamic modeling and tolerance analysis algorithms for microrobotic assembly, the design of MEMS sensors and actuators, and the packaging of biosensors.
