Background:
Laura Barnes received a B.S. in Computer Science from Texas Tech University in 2003. From 2003 to 2008 she attended the University of South Florida. She performed research in the areas of human-robot interaction, unmanned systems, and swarm control. She received an M.S. in Computer Science in 2007 and a Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2008. For her dissertation, she developed a potential field based formation control methodology for robot swarms using mathematical approaches based on multivariate functions. In June 2008, she joined ARRI as a Faculty Associate Researcher. Her current research involves swarm robotics and micro autonomous systems.
