Rolando Colindres-Bran




Rolando Colindres-Bran is a Manufacturing Specialist at TMAC (Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center), the Texas affiliate of the US Department of Commerce’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). The organization works with manufacturers to improve their competitiveness, productivity and profitability.

Prior to joining TMAC, Rolando was Vice President of Manufacturing and General Manager for Superior Concrete Products, an organization dedicated to production of concrete products, in all the United States, and many countries around the world. Rolando had the primary responsibility for providing leadership and vision for all manufacturing areas, including production, QA/QC, material planning, inventory management of raw materials, intermediate and finished goods, shipping and receiving, facilities management and manufacturing engineering. Additional responsibilities included strategic planning, budget management, production and equipment maintenance, schedules, prioritizing work flow and controlling production activities.

Rolando has over 20 years of experience in manufacturing and service systems; including strategic planning, operations control, total quality and project management. Rolando Colindres-Bran developed his career as a technical engineer in different fields including manufacturing Paints, PC Boards, Modular Buildings, Concrete Products, among others. During his career, Rolando has dedicated ten years in tactical controls and ten years in strategic management.

Rolando Colindres-Bran is an Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineer; he is a certified Black Belt for Six Sigma by Air Academy Associates and a Black Belt for Lean-Six Sigma by The George Group. Moreover, Rolando is a certified ISO 9001:2000 Lead Auditor by Stat-A-Matrix and an AS9100 Lead Auditor by AQS Management Systems. Also, he has been certified by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) for “train-the-trainer” in multiple Lean Enterprise Principles and holds a Lean Certification at the Bronze Level from SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers).

He has presented various workshops, and on-the-job training about Quality and Lean tools. The main focus of his career is on elimination of waste and reduction of process variation. As manufacturing specialist for the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC), he faces the daily challenges of introducing change.
