Distributed Intelligence and Autonomy Laboratory (D.I.A.L.)

This laboratory houses a very large collection of mobile robots and wireless devices. Data from environmental and telemetry sensors are collected by base station PCs running Labview and Matlab.

  • Acroname Garcia robots connected to 433MHz MICA2 motes for wireless communication.
  • Cybermotion Sentry robots endowed with gas, chemical, and smoke sensors and PXI microcontrollers connected to 433MHz MICA2 motes for wireless communication.
  • ARRI-Bots connected via Cricket Motes. These inexpensive robots are equipped with localization, processing, and sampling hardware.
  • 30+ MICA2 and Cricket Motes for WSN.
  • Lynxmotion hexapod robots.
  • RC Blimps for aerial surveillance and information relaying.
  • PIC18F8722 Programmer boards with Serial and Ethernet interfaces.
  • SBC18DC-IR2 RS232 Interface boards.
  • CSR Bluetooth development kit.
  • Security portal and mm Wave camera.
